Each gift recipient (i.e. each person who sets up a charitable fundraiser for an occasion) attracts on average 10 donors, each donating €100. This yields €1,000 in donation volume per recipient on average. (For context, typical crowdfunding campaigns see about 8 donors and ~$70 average donation – our model assumes a slightly higher engagement, which is reasonable in a gift scenario where donors are motivated by the occasion)
The platform’s growth is fueled by viral user acquisition: out of those 10 donors, 1.5 (15%) will go on to become new gift recipients themselves in the same year. In other words, each fundraiser sparks, on average, 1.5 additional fundraisers as friends/family of the original organizer are inspired to start their own campaigns.
